Helmsdale Break
The train arrived in the small town of Helmsdale at around 1pm. It was a long journey for me. It was suppose to be a relaxing train ride but it did not go 100% according to the plan. (Although I did arrive on time). The train from Edinburgh to Inverness was delayed by one hour, caused by some signalling problem about 35 miles from Inverness (at least it was not caused by wrong type of snow or leaves on the track). I had missed the connectiong train, from Inverness to Helmsdale so a replacement bus (a minivan) was arranged by the train company. Due to the train route (which runs in a big semi-circle loop) and the train being really really slow, our minivan managed to catch up with the train in a small town called Golspie. Anyway, I have now arrived in Helmsdale. Continue reading
